What is Derby at the Richwood?
What began as an impromptu weekend for a group of friends to watch the races on Derby Day, has grown into an extravaganza surrounded by horses, music, and great friends. This is a fundraiser event for the Madison Music Movement. With the Richwood as the backdrop, there are only a handful of places that could have a Derby venue this grand. Year after year it is bigger and better, as many people continue to say that this is by far the best party of the year.

The Madison Music Movement Mission
Our primary goal is to brand Madison as Indiana's Music City. We will make this brand synonymous with our town's identity, as ubiquitous as Regatta or Chautauqua. But the brand differs from those events in one very important way-it promotes tourism 52 weeks a year, not just one weekend. Madison will become known, on a super-regional basis, as a place where you can come and visit, pretty much any day of the week, and find fun, quality, and live music happening at multiple venues around town!

Stong success in building the brand, driving incremental tourism, and growing the pre-COVID live music venue count from 2 or 3 per weekend to over 10+ in 2022
